First, I recorded a handclap track. Then recorded tenor guitar and vocals in one-take. Added backing vocals, harmonica, washboard.

I found old 'almost in tune' harmonica in a bin of old cables that I haven't opened in a decade or so... I don't really play harmonica but I gave it a whirl.

I got a chance to use my tele-mic... which is a microphone made out of an old phone... which has a similar sound to an old fashion carbon microphone. I put it up for the one-take tracking in addition to my usual mics and then used it to record the harmonica track.
